The Froomsplint® antispasticity
splint was designed to aid in the care of patients with spasticity who
are recovering from stroke or spinal cord injury. The Froomsplint® Facilitates
an extended hand position and promotes active movement of a weakened
or paralyzed arm. An innovative, antispasticity hand orthosis of enormous
therapeutic value; it can also enable patients, families and caregivers
to continue nuero reeducation in multiple settings and allow for many
daily activities to have enhanced therapeutic application in patients
with neurological conditions or disorders.
The Froomsplint® can
be adapted to many functional activities, e.g. leaning on a table,
pushing up from toilet/chair, and pushing a walker. With our patented
line of accessories and rehab equipment it greatly extends opportunities
for therapeutic weight bearing while the system facilitates neurological
reeducation in those with a weakened or paralyzed arm/ upper extremity.
Benefits of the Froomsplint®
- Allows for an
extended weight bearing surface, which in turn facilitates motor
recovery.
- Helps maintain
a weight bearing surface for a recovering limb, so that dropping,
holding and moving the upper body trunk, in relation to the distal
limbs, is possible.
- Facilitates recruitment
of moto recovery in the limb and trunk.
- Helps counteract
flexor positioning of the hand, thereby reduces and helps prevent
contractures in the hand.
The Froomsplint® is machined out of high quality plastic and is
available with straps in sizes small, medium and large. It is reversible
for right or left hand in a ridged model or an adjustable thumb model.
It is extremely effective as a night splint or anytime as needed. The
Froomsplint® hand orthosis can be applied or removed easily by patients,
therapists or caregivers.
The Froomsplint® can
be readily modified with padding for comfort, making rehabilitation
time more efficient and minimizing the need for expensive tape. It
is also available by special order in smaller sizes for children.

I
just wanted you to know how much I love the walker splint.
What freedom! It allowed me to attach the splint easily to
my walker when ever I need to and to just as easily unattach
it. I can do it myself when ever I want, not have to depend
on others to do it for me.
This
splint and all your other devices around the house have meant so much, both in
exercising and functionally, I can't thank you enough. You have made my recovery
much easier.
